The Other Woman (by Holly Love)
On December 17th, I got a call from my friend Stacey who phone-snooped on her boyfriend. Let's just ignore how she obtained the information. Evidently her boyfriend was asking another friend at work about the "new" girl.
Enraged, Stacey immediately put on her spy gear and started scoping out the situation. With a stressed voice she called me before her office Christmas party, and noted that her suspiciously-behaving boyfriend had decided not to attend her party because "he was ill".
ALERT! ALERT! He couldn’t be sick because she was with him all day long and he seemed just fine.
Was he bailing to go hang out with the new girl? Was there a secret relationship?
Only time and more phone-snooping would tell.
Well, let's fast-forward to his office Christmas party.
My friend, all dolled up, stepped out as if she had to defend her man, and to make sure there was no room for a lurking “other woman.”
They arrive at the party, and they were instantly introduced. “This is my girlfriend Stacey," the boyfriend says.
Stacey waited for an eye exchange, or anything that could confirm there was a sneaky situation behind the office doors.
Then the new girl leans in, and she says: "And this is my girlfriend Rebecca."
Okay! Problem solved!
Love, Holly
