PENN’S PIX FOR FLIX (Updated: 9/3/10)
Greetings chosen ones...
George Clooney opened up THE AMERICAN which is your fun Fall thriller earlier this week. We also opened MACHETE today which is your slasher/action picture and GOING THE DISTANCE which is a hilarious romantic comedy type flick starring Justin Long and Drew Barrymore, both of whom are okay in my book. What's weird this week is that all three of these releases are R-Rated. MACHETE makes sense what with the blood and gratutious nudity but the other two look like they could have been PG-13.
Huh, I guess if I knew so much about making and rating movies I should have joined the MPAA instead of writing dumb newsletters. Show's ya what I know.
If you're looking for family fun with your weekend, you may want to take note of NANNY McPHEE which the families are loving and DESPICABLE ME which is still here in 3-D and playing to rave reviews. Also AVATAR is playing Digital 3-D and we left it in the biggest auditorium so as to really give you the fullest presentation (All you Fan Boys).
RESIDENT EVIL in 3-D opens next week and we will have the killer MIDNIGHT SHOW to kick things off! Get your tickets in advance or just show up if you wanna, it should be a fun time, in a sick and twisted kind of a way.
So there you have it. More fun than you could shake a stick at.

See you on the big screen...
