The product of an artistic family homegrown right here in Lancaster County, Katerina Kuss followed the path of creativity and broke into the design field after having attended Pennsylvania College of Art and Design. Stints at a printing company, advertising agency and freelancing all ended with the birth of Fine Living Lancaster magazine which started as a concept from Katerina's freelance client and now Editor in Chief, Mark Pontz. The first issue hit mailboxes in early 2007 at twenty-six pages and has been taking the county by storm ever since.

Calling downtown Lancaster home, Katerina resides with a slew of "animals" including her trusty pit bull companion and love of her life, Calder (named after one of her favorite artists, Alexander Calder.) Hiking, entertaining company, bon fires, creating, and planting her garden are among her favorites. Kat is always up for new adventures and challenges, however, she also enjoys spending time in a bookstore with a sketch book and cup of joe. She strives to make Fine Living Lancaster bigger and badder as the years go on by never backing down from the passion of her work and constantly looking for inspiration behind every nook and cranny.

Interesting facts:

1. Katerina has been a practicing martial artist for the past five years in a style that is male dominated bringing her peace of mind and plenty of bruises.

2. She has not had cable in years nor does she ever plan to.

3. Kat's hair color changes often however in her bleach blonde faux hawk days, she stood third row at a Billy Idol concert where Billy, from stage, pointed at her, grabbed his own bleach blonde locks, pointed at her again and gave the ever so famous fist in the air complete with curled lip and head nodding. To this day it was one of the most outstanding moments of her life.

4. Continuously on a mission for alternative forms of entertainment, she fancies herself a pretty darn good dart player. Not great…just pretty darn good.

5. With an obsession for vintage frocks, Katerina's closet is busting at the seams. She prides herself on the fact that she owns more dresses then most women will in a lifetime.
